Nature and the Environment

At Windrush school we are passionate about learning outside. We feel it is crucial that the children in our care have access to a high quality nature education so that they understand the natural world we live in. 

Due to the nature of the estate the school is in, a nature curriculum ensures teachers are actively planning opportunities for the children to experience close encounters with nature. 

As the school grows, the children will be involved in the planning and development of the site, especially our nature area. They will be taught about plants which enourage pollinators and make links with their other learning such as sensory experiences involving living things (e.g. smelling lavendar, stroking lambs ears...).
